Full-Time Housekeeper

Role Overview

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety across designated areas, ensuring these spaces are orderly and inviting while adhering to established protocols. Exceptional customer service is a key element of this role.

Primary Duties

• Inspect refrigerators regularly and discard spoiled items.
• Apply infection control standards and universal precautions rigorously.
• Handle cleaning tasks involving blood and bodily fluids when required.
• Identify and report pest issues, actively participate in remediation efforts.
• Report any irregular environmental or room conditions affecting safety.
• Sanitize rooms thoroughly after resident discharges or transfers to prepare for new occupants and assist with move-in tasks, such as hanging clothes.
• Maintain residents' rooms by making beds and organizing spaces as necessary.
• Perform scheduled cleaning of hallways, stairways, elevators, and other facility areas.

Site-Specific Responsibilities

• At Loretto Health and Rehab, ensure hallways, stairways, and elevators are cleaned according to instructions.
• At PACE CNY, respond promptly to work orders, complete related documentation, and clean designated areas including staff and participant bathrooms, clinics, break rooms, kitchens, and communal spaces.
• Comply with organizational compliance policies, code of conduct, and promote compliance culture.
• Build and maintain respectful and positive relationships with all stakeholders including residents, staff, families, and community partners.
• Understand and be ready to perform roles in emergency preparedness plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or passing a written TABE test.
• Proficient in English reading, writing, and comprehension.
• Capable of following simple written and verbal instructions.
• Strong dedication to customer service.
• Physical stamina to stand and walk throughout the shift.
• Familiarity and ability to operate cleaning tools and equipment such as mops, vacuum cleaners, utility carts, and floor scrubbers.

PACE CNY Specific Qualifications

• Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to travel between multiple work locations.
• Possession of a valid New York State driver's license free from major violations, and access to a dependable vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, talk, see, and perform repetitive motions; may occasionally move light furniture.
• Possible exposure to odors, medical waste, diseases, and unsanitary conditions.
