Role Overview

The Front End Specialist will support the Regional Process Support Group across BPEMEA & Asia by assisting with installation, audits, troubleshooting, implementation of best practices, innovation, cost reduction, and maintenance for Front End process equipment, primarily focused on Body Makers and also covering Trimmers. This role serves as the technical authority for Front End machinery, answering queries and providing expert support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise during projects and equipment overhauls as needed.
• Generate and deliver comprehensive reports from site visits to management.
• Handle maintenance, audits, setup, and problem resolution for Bodymaker and Trimmer equipment.
• Conduct training sessions for plant personnel and central employees at various levels.
• Use technical knowledge to assist plants in submitting capital investment requests as necessary.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
• Develop and maintain practical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote effective process equipment operation.
• Champion the sharing of valuable skills across plants.
• Ensure implementation and follow-up on recommended action plans.
• Foster strong collaborative relationships with plants and suppliers.
• Create and deliver technical training programs for new and existing plants.
• Be available on short notice to respond to emergency breakdowns.

Candidate Profile

• Possess an ONC (Ordinary National Certificate) or a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Have 3 to 5 years of practical engineering experience with various Body Maker types.
• Capable of managing small projects or leading teams.
• Deep technical understanding of Front End operations in a two-piece can manufacturing plant.
• Highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Flexible to travel at short notice and work on weekends when required.
• Hold a valid full driving license.
• Strong team orientation.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.

Work Environment and Terms

This position is primarily remote but requires approximately 80% travel. The starting gross salary for candidates from Austria begins at 66,400 EUR per month, with the final compensation determined by education, experience, skills, and internal and market considerations. The role is included in Ball’s annual incentive bonus program.
