Role Overview
The Fitness Manager position is a full-time opportunity requiring onsite presence at Masters Way Sport Center. This role entails managing the day-to-day fitness department operations, including coordination and oversight of group exercise sessions, personal training appointments, and specialized fitness programs. The manager will lead and mentor trainers and instructors, uphold safety and quality standards, supervise equipment maintenance, and ensure the facility is prepared for daily activities.
Additional duties involve actively engaging with members to identify their fitness objectives, offering expert advice on personalized training regimes, and sustaining an inviting atmosphere. The role also demands the monitoring of key performance indicators, collaboration with senior management on program innovation, and participation in marketing and community fitness outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience in the fitness industry with hands-on proficiency in conducting group exercise and training sessions.
- Competence in personal training, including evaluating client needs and creating customized fitness plans.
- Understanding of exercise physiology to promote safe and efficient training practices.
- Strong leadership capabilities for managing and mentoring fitness staff effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to engage members and foster positive relationships.
- Organizational and time management skills to efficiently handle scheduling, programming, and operational tasks.
- Appropriate certifications related to fitness, personal training, or exercise science; a relevant academic degree is preferred.
- Dedication to maintaining safety, inclusivity, and adherence to professional ethical standards in all fitness activities.
