About the Role and Company
A distinguished international energy sector company in Doha, Qatar, is seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to enhance their financial planning operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the strategic long-term business planning process, including annual budgeting, periodic updates, and setting planning guidelines, timelines, assumptions, and templates.
- Create and maintain comprehensive business plan booklets alongside other budget-related documentation and reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to FP&A policies and procedures, while proposing enhancements aimed at improving standards and boosting accuracy and efficiency in financial planning.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses on business plans for credit metric assessment and capital allocation decisions.
- Develop and uphold a robust performance management system that supports establishing fiscal and operational targets aligning with organizational strategy.
- Implement early warning mechanisms to aid the Executive Team in identifying and addressing deviations from the planned financial outlook without jeopardizing a balanced cash flow.
- Maintain detailed cost accounting to monitor profit margins, operating expenses, general and administrative costs, capital expenditures, and cash flows compared to budgets.
- Supervise and regulate the spending authorization procedures and handle budget modification requests accordingly.
- Provide specialized financial analyses on demand.
- Manage the company’s systems for financial planning and management reporting.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Educational credentials in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; professional qualifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years in financial planning and analysis, including at least 5 years in managerial capacities.
- Experience in power, energy, or EPC industries, or comparable project-based companies is highly desirable.
- Proficient knowledge of prominent ERP software and financial management reporting systems, including SAP and/or Sage ERP.
- Preferably previous work experience in Qatar or other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
- Understanding of global energy markets within large, culturally diverse organizations.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Applicants currently residing in Qatar will be given priority.
