Overview
The Financial Controller for the Asia-Pacific region is a pivotal role driving financial clarity and aiding strategic decisions across the business. This position delivers precise management accounting, insightful evaluations, and robust financial planning to help leadership guide company performance effectively. Collaborating with various departments, this role ensures strict cost management, effective cash flow oversight, and punctual reporting. It also plays a role in ongoing process refinement, improving financial controls, and supporting initiatives aimed at boosting operational efficiency and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and coordinate monthly financial reporting and variance assessments.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and the overall financial planning cycles.
- Oversee cash flows, revenue streams, cost controls, and aid in managing working capital.
- Provide financial analyses and actionable recommendations to guide business decisions.
- Develop and sustain cost allocation frameworks, including product costing and profitability evaluations across different markets.
- Maintain internal financial controls, ensure compliance, and support audit processes aligned with corporate and regional standards.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and supply chain teams to assess business performance and promote efficiency.
- Create management dashboards and KPIs to facilitate timely and accurate reporting for leadership.
- Champion ongoing financial process improvements via standardization, automation, and enhanced reporting cycles.
- Manage unexpected assignments, special projects, and strategic initiatives as designated by management.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional certifications such as ACCA or CPA are preferred.
- Sound understanding of accounting standards and consolidation processes.
- Have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial planning and analysis, preferably within regional or multinational contexts.
- Experience working cross-functionally and across cultures, especially with sales teams within the Asia-Pacific region.
- Strong analytical capability, sound business judgment, and the confidence to challenge existing assumptions.
- Extensive experience in management reporting, consultancy, and collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities, cultural sensitivity, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with SAP and AI technologies is advantageous.
- Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working efficiently in a remote setup.
