Overview
An established and expanding Irish company located in South Dublin is seeking a skilled Finance Manager / Financial Controller to become an integral part of its finance department. This senior leadership role encompasses comprehensive responsibilities across financial management, reporting, treasury, compliance, and team leadership within a multifaceted organizational structure.
Role Summary
This position is designed for a proactive finance expert who blends thorough financial control and accounting knowledge with leadership capabilities and a focus on continuous improvements. The role offers significant influence over business outcomes, opportunities to nurture talent, and the chance to promote best practices throughout the financial function.
Primary Duties
- Collaborate closely with the CFO to help shape the strategic direction of the finance department.
- Prepare and scrutinize monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Oversee the month-end closing activities, ensuring integrity and strength of financial controls.
- Handle statutory reporting along with tax and regulatory compliance obligations.
- Manage treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting and banking relationships.
- Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit and uphold strong governance frameworks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, encouraging teamwork and responsibility.
- Champion initiatives to enhance processes, implement automation, and improve financial reporting quality.
- Establish and maintain productive connections with internal departments and external advisors.
Candidate Profile
- Fully certified accountant with qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or their equivalent.
- At least five years' experience in a senior financial leadership position or as a Financial Controller.
- Strong proficiency in technical accounting, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
- Proven history of managing and developing finance teams.
- Commercially savvy with robust analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective and confident communicator with senior-level stakeholders.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP or financial systems.
