About the Role
FGF Brands is seeking a Financial Analyst focused on Operations to act as a strategic partner in delivering comprehensive financial insights that support business decisions. This role involves preparing daily and monthly management reports such as variance, root cause, and KPI analyses. Approximately 85% of duties relate to operations finance including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, while the remaining 15% focuses on FP&A functions like customer reporting, freight, trade spend analysis, and sales tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage financial expertise and operational knowledge to create reports, business models, and dashboards that provide actionable insights and influence leadership decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Conduct daily analysis of operational variances to identify productivity drivers, collaborating with teams to develop innovative, data-driven solutions to improve efficiency.
- Ensure accurate and timely collection of shift data, reconcile data discrepancies between systems, and recommend process improvements for enhanced performance.
- Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across departments to manage priorities and drive resolution of financial and operational challenges.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through cost analysis methods and consistent KPI tracking.
- Perform root cause analysis on significant operational variances and non-operational expenditure areas.
- Prepare periodic variance reports against standards and suggest corrective actions.
- Manage periodic and annual inventory reconciliations across internal and external locations; post necessary inventory adjustments.
- Assist in annual physical inventory verifications alongside third-party logistics partners.
- Develop analytical models for ad-hoc financial analyses that evaluate financial impacts and inform management recommendations.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- University or college degree in Accounting or Finance, or currently pursuing a professional accounting designation.
- Between zero to two years of experience in financial reporting and budgeting.
- Experience with financial and root cause analysis in manufacturing environments considered an asset.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in reporting and analytical assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across multiple business units.
- Committed to continuous process improvement and operational optimization.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the MS Office suite, including PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with SAP, VBA, and Microsoft Power BI is advantageous.
