Finance Academy Training Manager

Overview

This role is dedicated to managing the daily operations and ongoing enhancement of the Finance Academy training programs at Qatar Airways. It involves close coordination with the Group Learning & Development (GL&D) team to design, deliver, and improve impactful training initiatives that align fully with the Finance Division’s goals and the broader organizational objectives and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess training needs and develop strategic plans for the Finance Academy’s developmental programs.
• Build and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders and internal teams to identify and address learning gaps within the finance business.
• Design and launch new training courses and curricula informed by prior experience and thorough needs analysis.
• Formulate long-term training strategies under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer to benefit the Finance Division.
• Oversee the entire training lifecycle, including needs assessment, program development, delivery, and evaluation of the Finance Academy.
• Create learning plans, produce course materials for internal training, and manage execution of training programs aligned with division requirements.
• Engage regularly with key stakeholders to ensure training remains relevant to evolving business demands.
• Develop auxiliary training content to enhance learning effectiveness and efficiency when necessary.
• Guarantee that authorized training delivered meets top standards and aligns with leadership direction.
• Manage curriculum design and development aimed at best practice L&D methodologies.
• Collaborate with the Digital team to integrate learning technologies and tools.
• Keep training offerings current through continuous review and improvement initiatives.
• Administer the Finance Academy platform ensuring courses are properly uploaded, participation is tracked, and accurate records are kept.
• Execute other department-related duties as directed by the Head of Department.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Holds a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years relevant professional experience.
• For Qatari nationals: Bachelor’s degree with at least 1-2 years of job-related experience.
• Experienced in training management roles, ideally with a background in airlines or aviation finance training.
• Proven skills in managing multicultural training environments.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Strong managerial capabilities including delegation, setting clear directives, workflow management, mentoring, coaching, and team motivation.
• Preferred qualifications include accreditation in training, prior management experience in multicultural settings, and practical finance operational experience.
