Role and Location
Position: Family Support Worker
Location: Dublin
Reporting to the National Manager for Family Support and Specialist Services
Working hours: 39 hours per week
Salary Range: €39,000 to €50,000 annually, with typical offers made in the lower to mid-range depending on experience and skills.
Job Purpose
To develop, manage, and coordinate family support initiatives aligned with the organization's family support strategy and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular needs assessments for families living in Respond estates and referred families.
- Design, execute, and evaluate personalized and group programs for families per the family support strategy.
- Support the creation and implementation of family-centered programs through Respond Support services.
- Collaborate with external agencies to provide holistic support for families.
- Advocate both internally and externally on issues affecting families.
- Represent Respond Support to external entities including community organizations, statutory bodies, private sectors, and funding groups.
- Research and secure suitable supports, funding, or services necessary for strategy execution.
- Prepare reports and actively participate in team meetings.
- Serve as the Designated Person for Respond's Child Protection Policy.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Family Support, Social Care, or related fields.
- Valid full driver's license with regular access to a car.
- Between 1 and 3 years of relevant professional experience working with families.

- Strong report writing and administrative capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills paired with a non-judgmental attitude.
- Proven leadership qualities and organizational skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of social issues impacting families and individuals.
- Experience in facilitating group sessions and delivering targeted programs.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Desirable Skills
- Fluent in English.
- Relevant tertiary education beyond the essential criteria.
- Experience in coordinating and managing social projects.
- Confidence and empathy with a Trauma-Informed approach.
- Ability to act as an advocate and ambassador on family-related issues.
- Willingness to work outside standard hours when needed.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety standards.
