About the Role
Brian Perry Civil is seeking a seasoned Excavator Operator to join their team working on diverse civil construction projects. This permanent, full-time position involves operating machinery such as excavators to complete excavation, trenching, grading, and earthworks while collaborating closely with the crew to maintain high standards and project progress. The role includes conducting daily pre-start inspections, performing basic maintenance, interpreting site plans, and assisting the team with various site duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other civil construction equipment proficiently and safely
- Execute earthworks including excavation, trenching, and grading tasks
- Perform daily machinery pre-start checks and routine maintenance
- Interpret and work according to site specifications and project plans
- Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to support project delivery
- Assist with additional site responsibilities such as labouring and spotting as required
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience safely operating excavators in a civil construction setting
- Valid Class 1 Driver Licence with WTR endorsements
- Comprehensive understanding of construction plant equipment and safe operation protocols
- Ability to accurately read and follow plans, instructions, and schedules
- Proactive and safety-conscious mindset with a strong team focus
- Dependable, practical, and ready to support the team wherever needed
