Electronics Repair Technician

Role Overview

Device Repair Guy is seeking a skilled technician with a minimum of five years experience in component-level repairs to join our dedicated team of eleven professionals. Operating from three central Wellington locations, our company specializes in Phone, Computer, and Automotive Electronics (ECU/TCU) repairs, combining a professional yet relaxed work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults in laptops, phones, automotive electronics, and various electronic devices.
• Perform component replacements such as screens, batteries, and charging ports.
• Read and interpret PCB schematics for effective troubleshooting.
• Conduct logic board repairs at the component level, utilizing micro-soldering techniques.
• Test all repaired devices to ensure proper functionality.
• Prepare accurate quotes for repair jobs and document repair details comprehensively.
• Communicate repair processes clearly to front-line staff and customers as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least five years of experience in detailed electronic component-level repair.
• Proficiency with troubleshooting and repairing diverse electronic devices.
• Ability to read PCB schematics and perform micro-soldering.
• Effective communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams.
• While an electronic engineering degree is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

Additional Information

This role is primarily hands-on repair work rather than purely customer service, though occasional interaction explaining repair processes is required. Position is based onsite in Wellington, New Zealand.
