The Blood Bank of Hawaii, serving the community for over 75 years and supplying vital blood products to 18 hospitals, is searching for dedicated Donor Recruitment Specialists to join their team. This role is crucial in facilitating blood donations that support surgeries, trauma care, cancer treatment, and other vital medical needs.

Role Summary

In this position, you will act as the initial contact point for potential donors by making phone outreach to arrange appointments. Location and Schedule

This full-time role is based at the Young Street Donor Center in the McCully area of Tasmania, Australia. Work hours require availability Monday through Saturday, specifically Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Key Duties

  • Contact potential donors via phone to set blood donation appointments using call lists or inbound inquiries
  • Conduct telephone screening interviews to verify donor eligibility
  • Accurately collect, confirm, and record donor information in the database
  • Schedule appointments ensuring donor qualifications are met
  • Provide courteous, professional communication, addressing donor queries and maintaining positive relationships
  • Adhere to new donor recruitment initiatives aimed at expanding the donor base
  • Maintain detailed donor records and meet appointment targets with minimal complaints
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities as necessary

Eligibility and Qualifications

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
  • Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute and comfortable with PC usage
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Effective listening skills to assess donor willingness
  • Excellent organizational capabilities and ability to manage time efficiently in high-pressure settings
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently to achieve targets
  • Professional and businesslike appearance with a positive attitude and reliable attendance
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet operational demands

Additional Details

This position does not offer remote work options; employees must be present at the designated donor center. Paid training is provided, and no prior experience is necessary for applicants authorized to work in the United States.
