Job Overview

As a Designer at Guess?, LLC., you will be responsible for creating and executing seasonal fashion lines that align with market trends and the brand's vision. Your role includes ensuring deadlines in the design calendar are met and coordinating communication for each style throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and sketch seasonal apparel silhouettes by hand or using CAD tools, transforming concepts into detailed drawings.
• Define product specifications including color palettes, construction details, materials, and accessory needs.
• Collaborate with sales, buying, and production departments to verify designs meet customer preferences, market demands, and pricing strategies.
• Develop patterns for sample garments, supervise sample making, fittings, and adjustments to perfect designs.
• Participate actively in fabric selection each season, with Design Director approval, and source materials such as fabrics, trims, fastenings, and embellishments.
• Work closely with Product Development and Technical Design teams to prepare technical packages and develop labels and trims.
• Conduct market research and trend analysis on fabrics, colors, and shapes to inform design direction and share insights with the Design Director.
• Engage regularly with domestic and international vendors to explore new development ideas.
• Oversee prototype production, addressing and resolving issues in collaboration with Production, Technical Design, Buying, and other teams to ensure timely progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in fashion design or a similar role.
• Proficiency with fashion illustration, sketching, and technical pack development.
• Experience using CAD software for apparel design.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary: $70,304.
• Salary is determined based on market data, internal equity, relevant background, and experience.
