Role Overview
This opportunity is for a SAP HANA Database Administrator to support system setup, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and data protection activities. The role is based in Bengaluru and involves hands-on administration across HANA environments, including cloud-backed backup and recovery setups.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle SAP HANA system architecture-related administration work.
- Carry out installation and upgrade activities for the HANA database.
- Manage backups for HANA databases across AWS, Azure, and HANA Enterprise Cloud Data Center environments.
- Apply HANA parameter updates and resolve database start/stop issues.
- Install and maintain HANA plugins.
- Work on DBA tasks in RDBMS environments.
- Manage database objects and perform administration on SAP HANA.
- Monitor SAP HANA systems and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Administer HANA using SAP HANA Cockpit and HANA Studio.
- Handle user and role administration within the HANA system.
- Implement HANA table management practices such as data compression, table partitioning, and loading or unloading tables into memory.
- Support data migration work using tools such as SDI, HSR, HANA Capture and Replay, and HANA backup and recovery processes.
- Work with OS-level database administration and cloud migration efforts involving Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Bring familiarity with Sybase ASE, DB2, and MS SQL databases.
