Data Center Safety Manager (36-Month Contract)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to oversee and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs for mission-critical data center operations and projects. This position focuses on fostering a robust safety culture, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, mitigating operational and construction-related risks, and supporting secure and dependable data center environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives across data center operations, maintenance, and construction activities.
• Encourage a proactive safety culture while ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Identify and manage safety risks related to critical infrastructure such as electrical systems, mechanical components, contractor operations, and commissioning processes.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and investigations of incidents to prevent hazards.
• Monitor HSE performance indicators and champion ongoing improvements.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, projects, and vendor teams to enforce safe work procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Design and facilitate HSE training sessions, toolbox talks, and emergency readiness programs.
• Support client reporting and ensure compliance with global environmental, health, and safety standards and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or closely related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in HSE roles within data centers, mission-critical environments, construction, engineering, or industrial sectors.
• Strong expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management, incident investigation, and contractor safety supervision.
• Hands-on experience managing high-risk operations including electrical activities, confined space work, heights, lifting operations, and commissioning.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership.
