Cost Engineer

Role Overview

This position involves preparing cost estimates, managing budgets, and assembling tender submissions aligned with project specifications. The engineer will track project expenditures, monitor any financial discrepancies, and generate reports and forecasts accordingly. Support duties include procurement and contract management, such as handling quotes, claims, and contract variations. Collaboration with various stakeholders is required to achieve cost-efficient outcomes and ensure project milestones are met. Additionally, undertaking market research and benchmarking will be necessary to keep pricing competitive and accurate.

Candidate Profile

• Applicants should possess 2 to 5 years of experience in Cost Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) or Building Services sectors.
• Strong understanding of building M&E components including lighting systems, electrical panels, generators, fire protection, and air conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) systems is essential.
• Candidates must be adept in cost estimation, budget management, and overseeing contract administration tasks.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities are required, along with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and the ability to work well within a team are important attributes.
