Job Overview

This Cook II role at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is based in Ummahat Islands 2-3, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, requiring hands-on culinary preparation in a non-management capacity. The position involves preparing ingredients by portioning, cutting, and storing, washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation protocols.

Key Duties

• Prepare cold foods and operate kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food to ensure thorough cooking and monitor food quality throughout preparation.
• Maintain organized and clean food prep areas, serve food in appropriate containers and quantities.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen spaces, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment.
• Verify accuracy of appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow all company safety and security policies, report maintenance issues and unsafe working conditions, and complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and uniform.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, support positive work relationships, listen to and address staff concerns appropriately.
• Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
• Be physically capable of standing, sitting, walking for long hours during shifts, and perform movements like bending, twisting, reaching above head and below knees.
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as directed by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of one year of relevant culinary experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No licenses or certifications required.
