Role overview

Zaxbys is looking for a cook to help deliver a positive guest experience through well-prepared food served quickly and consistently. This role supports the kitchen by receiving and organizing stock, preparing and cooking menu items, assembling orders, and keeping the work area clean, orderly, and compliant with food safety standards.

What you will do

• Take part in all required training, including the back-of-house development plan, hands-on station training, and any additional training assigned by Zax LLC.
• Welcome guests with a friendly and energetic approach.
• Stay current on active promotions and represent the Zaxbys brand in a positive way.
• Support guest service and front-of-house operations when needed.
• Prepare menu items safely and according to company procedures and quality standards.
• Handle food and beverages in line with safety rules and sanitation practices.
• Use cooking and food-prep equipment safely.
• Keep assigned stations stocked so they are ready for immediate needs.
• Accurately build, package, and complete guest orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and work area.
• Take care of equipment and alert management when repairs or maintenance are needed.
• Help manage inventory and storage, including receiving deliveries, stocking items, storing food correctly, and organizing storage spaces.
• Notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
• Complete work promptly and safely, and carry out other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Full-time availability must be 32 to 40 hours per week.
• Part-time availability, where applicable, must be 9 to 28 hours per week.
• You should be able to work safely around restaurant equipment and food allergens.
• The role requires comfort working in hot and cold environments.
• You must be able to communicate clearly by speaking, reading, and writing.
• This position involves standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
• You should be able to stoop, bend, crouch, and climb when required, including ladder use.
• You must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
• Continuous hand and wrist use for gripping and fine motor tasks is required.
• You need strong visual and auditory awareness to observe surroundings and respond appropriately.
