The position is responsible for making sure work is delivered on schedule, stays within budget, and meets the required quality standards. You will oversee the site team, subcontractors, and resources, while also ensuring compliance with safety rules, building regulations, and project requirements. The role calls for strong decision-making and practical problem-solving throughout the construction cycle.
Core responsibilities
- Track project costs closely, review financial data, and advise management on actions that improve cost efficiency and execution capability.
- Set up and monitor line-item expenses for preliminaries and consumables across the project timeline.
- Plan and manage approaches that support the project’s earning targets and commercial performance.
- Protect value across services and materials by limiting unnecessary inventory buildup and keeping output flowing smoothly.
- Oversee value engineering activities, including change tracking and variation reconciliation.
- Ensure project insurance requirements are properly maintained and that assets and liabilities are appropriately managed.
- Identify design-related risks early to reduce the chances of claims, disputes, or other project hazards.
- Take part in tendering activities and flag any inconsistencies or concerns that need to be reported.
- Support HR-related processes such as mobilization and demobilization.
- Handle cost planning, commercial oversight, value engineering, and contract administration through every stage of the project.
- Maintain and enforce safety policies and procedures across all levels of the project team.
- Support HSE initiatives, join safety awareness efforts, and assist with incident reporting and follow-up in line with company and IMS policies.
Experience and education
This role requires at least 12 years of overall work experience, including 5 years in a relevant position. Experience in GCC countries is considered an advantage. A professional degree in a related field is required, along with either a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architecture. SCE registration is mandatory.
