Connections Design Engineer

Role Overview

Northpower is seeking a skilled Connections Design Engineer to join their Contracting division. This position involves creating detailed designs and cost estimates for electrical customer connections, ensuring adherence to Northpower, Vector, and customer standards while prioritizing safety.

The engineer will collaborate closely with operational teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure that solutions are practical, cost-efficient, and comply with health, safety, quality, and environment (HSQE) principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate, high-standard designs and quotes for customer electrical connections.
• Conduct site visits to perform measurements and review project scopes.
• Ensure all designs comply with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and network standards.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure projects handed over are fit for purpose.
• Maintain communication with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth progress.
• Identify potential risks early and provide cost-effective compliant solutions.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 2 years of estimating experience within electrical or related industries.
• Sound understanding of electrical network, safety, and compliance standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
• Electrical registration is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Strong safety awareness with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and capability to manage multiple stakeholders.
