Position Overview

Marriott International is seeking a Chief Loss Prevention Officer to safeguard the physical and operational integrity of our hotel in Muscat, Oman. This full-time, on-site role falls under the Loss Prevention & Security category and involves maintaining safety, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patrol all hotel areas and assist guests with room access.
  • Conduct emergency drills, daily risk inspections, investigations, interviews, and key control audits.
  • Monitor CCTV and alarm systems continuously.
  • Authorize, control, and document access to secured hotel zones.
  • Respond promptly to accidents, and provide first aid or CPR as necessary, contacting Emergency Medical Services when required.
  • Gather relevant information and prepare detailed reports while maintaining confidentiality; share information only with authorized personnel.
  • Manage disturbances according to company policies, resolve security risks, handle interruptions and guest complaints, and escort unwanted individuals off premises.
  • Ensure hotel compliance with alcohol control laws.
  • Request assistance using appropriate coded responses and provide proper documentation to staff.
  • Support management in training, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model and point of contact for fair treatment and open-door policies.
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly and complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance and uniform at all times.
  • Protect company property and confidentiality.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, treating all with dignity and respect to support team goals and quality standards.
  • Regularly move, lift, transport, push, drag, and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently and assist with objects over 75 pounds as needed.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts, moving at speeds needed to respond to work situations including running or brisk walking.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines for defects, and accurately read various forms of information.
  • Use computers or point-of-sale systems to enter and locate job-related data.
  • Perform manual dexterity tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Perform physical activities such as reaching above head, bending, twisting, crawling, and moving through confined or elevated spaces, inclines, uneven or slippery surfaces, stairs, and ramps.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests per company standards and communicate clearly with guests and co-workers following professional etiquette.
  • Stay alert to potential threats posed by undesirable persons on the property.
  • Execute additional reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Relevant work experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar loss prevention or security role.
  • Supervisory experience: At least 1 year managing or supervising teams.
  • No specific licenses or certifications required.
