CCTV Operator

General Overview

The CCTV Operator role involves overseeing QDF premises by continuously monitoring Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and access control systems. This position requires interaction with supervisors, management, various security agencies including Police, Ministry of Interior, Qatar Airways Security, and Airport Security to ensure safety and operational compliance. The primary objective is to observe activity through surveillance to protect personnel and identify individuals who might cause property or product damage.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor QDF areas to detect and prevent incidents such as shoplifting and any activities that could result in loss or damage.
• Report and escalate any security breaches or health and safety incidents spotted during CCTV surveillance to supervisors or officers promptly.
• Assist investigations using recorded CCTV footage.
• Identify suspicious behaviors indicative of potential harm or loss to QDF assets.
• Ensure security of all partners by vigilant CCTV surveillance.
• Scrutinize POS activities and coordinate with security supervisors and duty managers to address concerns.
• Supervise third-party security contractors' performance and escalate any issues.
• Communicate with relevant external agencies like MOI, immigration, customs, and airport security concerning security or safety matters.
• Proactively observe the sales floor without relying solely on CCTV to detect irregularities.
• Build professional relationships with QDF staff and oversee staff behavior to ensure adherence to QDF and Qatar Airways security protocols and compliance.
• Conduct initial inquiries and documentation relating to loss or damage, compiling evidence and statements as needed.
• Operate control center systems effectively, following established procedures, legislation, and codes of practice.
• Maintain precise and clear records of all incidents and actions taken.
• Provide efficient communication services via radio and telephone, responding to inquiries promptly.
• Support incident management as directed by security supervisors.
• Assist in emergency procedures, including evacuation and firefighting as required by authorized representatives.
• Maintain security of the CCTV Control Room and associated facilities by following defined protocols.

Qualifications and Candidate Profile

• Possess a High School diploma with minimum one year of relevant experience or hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent without prior work experience.
• Familiarity with reporting procedures.
• Proficient in English communication.
• Demonstrate confidentiality and integrity at all times.
• Good physical condition to meet job’s physical demands.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and work independently.
• Capable of handling interactions tactfully across organizational levels and with external parties, including contractors and the public.

Specific Skills Required

• Experience in retail environments.
• Practical knowledge of CCTV and access control systems.
• Understanding of customer service standards and procedures.
• Awareness of law enforcement practices applicable in Doha.
• Familiarity with contemporary security technologies.
• Knowledge of basic retail, airport, and security operations.
