Cafe Barista

About the Role

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Barista passionate about delivering high-quality food and drink alongside excellent customer service to join our Tesco Café team. Whether customers are stopping by quickly after shopping or relaxing with friends, you will ensure they enjoy delicious coffee, tea, and seasonal beverages that brighten their day.

Bringing your barista skills or hospitality experience, you will work collaboratively, sharing your knowledge with team members. At Tesco, customer satisfaction is paramount, so you will stay informed on all menu items and new initiatives, regularly monitor stock, and provide fast, attentive service while accommodating specific customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve a variety of drinks promptly and efficiently to customers.
• Comply strictly with food safety and hygiene standards to maintain required protocols.
• Monitor stock levels regularly and adhere to Tesco’s policies and procedures.
• Partner with the Café Manager to identify and support colleagues interested in developing barista skills.
• Stay up to date with all internal communications, promotional offers, initiatives, and menu updates.
• Handle customer complaints effectively where possible.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Barista or within a hospitality environment.
• Strong dedication to delivering excellent customer service.
• Confidence in coaching and training others inclusively.
• Well-developed planning and organizational abilities.
• Proactive attitude to identify improvements and adapt to changing situations.
• Effective communication skills to support the team and management.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
