Ezra is a provider of B2B digital lending solutions tailored for emerging markets, collaborating closely with mobile and digital wallet operators along with financial service providers. We operate across 24 markets in 23 countries spanning Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, with our main offices located in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dubai, UAE.
Our prominent products include:
- Airtime Credit Services (ACS): Offers airtime or data advances to prepaid mobile users during low credit moments.
- Nano: Provides micro cash advances to mobile wallet users on demand.
- BNPL: Enables installment payments for products and services.
As a FinTech enterprise, our operations are wholly centered on technology and data, covering areas such as borrower eligibility, offer generation, risk management, loan issuance, recovery, performance optimization, reporting, reconciliation, and billing. On a daily basis, we manage roughly 21 million loan requests and handle 1.4 terabytes of data across our markets, always ensuring robustness, reliability, and security.
We are actively researching innovative methods to leverage our platform and transaction data to enrich current products and to launch new offerings.
Role Overview
We are inviting an individual to join our Business Intelligence team in Nairobi, Kenya. Reporting to the Manager of Data Engineering & Architecture, the selected candidate will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of internal and external reports. The role involves collecting requirements from stakeholders, assessing feasibility, designing viable solutions, integrating them into the existing reporting framework, and executing the implementation. Key tasks include Python-based data pipeline development along with Tableau-driven data visualization and report generation.
Key Duties
- Engage with primary business stakeholders to collect reporting needs and execute appropriate reporting solutions.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain ETL workflows using Python.
- Create diverse data visualizations and reports using Tableau software.
- Recommend suitable statistical methodologies to measure company key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support the assessment and evaluation of emerging technologies for potential adoption.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proficient in Python or equivalent programming/scripting languages.
- Strong command over SQL and related database query development.
- Experience working with relational database management systems (RDBMS), including performance tuning.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as GIT.
- Competency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience developing reports and dashboards using Tableau.
- Comfortable operating in Linux environments (Debian knowledge is advantageous).
- Basic familiarity with Windows OS for both user and development purposes.
- A minimum of two years of professional work experience.
Preferred Additional Skills
- In-depth understanding of PostgreSQL database systems.
- Experience adhering to software development best practices.
- Knowledge in Windows Server and Debian server administration and configuration.
- Working knowledge of Java or C/C++ is a bonus.
- Experience with Docker or containerization technologies.
- Expertise in the broader Tableau ecosystem.
