This position offers the chance to grow valuable client partnerships while directly supporting the hotel’s commercial performance.
The hotel is seeking a Business Development Executive who has a history of delivering sales results and achieving targets. The role focuses on filling guest rooms, meeting spaces, and banquet areas by creating new business and increasing revenue across corporate, government, Travel Management Companies (MTCs), logistics, aviation, meetings and events, and group accommodation accounts.
This is a forward-facing sales role with a strong external focus, requiring active networking, client engagement, and a visible market presence.
What the role involves
- Spending much of the work week outside the hotel meeting potential and current clients.
- Meeting personal and team sales targets to support profitability.
- Identifying new business opportunities, deepening existing relationships, and promoting Holiday Inn Auckland Airport across the Auckland community.
- Turning prospects into long-term business relationships.
- Building and sustaining relationships with important clients and external contacts.
What the employer is looking for
- Background in business development, sales, account management, hospitality, or another client-facing commercial role.
- Experience in hotels, travel, tourism, or hospitality is helpful but not mandatory.
- Proven ability to build relationships, prospect for new business, and provide strong customer service.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Commercial thinking and the ability to spot and convert opportunities.
- Comfort working independently while managing a busy external sales calendar.
- Hotel sales experience with CRM tools such as Delphi is an advantage.
- A full New Zealand driver’s licence is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the Auckland region for meetings and networking events.
