Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst specialized in Fixed Income Middle Office to join the Compression and Derivative Support team (CMPIRD) at a leading financial institution based in Toronto, ON. The role operates on a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days on-site presence and involves supporting post-trade processes related to Interest Rate Derivatives, including portfolio compression, brokerage and fee processing, and lifecycle events impacting funding, risk, or profit and loss.
Contract Details
- Contract length: 8 months
- Work days: Monday to Friday during core business hours, with occasional overtime
- Hourly pay range: CAD $55 to $62
- No travel involved
- Approximately 3 hours per week spent in meetings
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily CMPIRD functions aligned with Toronto business hours
- Support global portfolio compression processes and reporting
- Oversee reconciliation, validation, and payment processing of Interest Rate Derivative brokerages and fees
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies and cash breaks at trade level
- Conduct bulk lifecycle actions and manage corporate action postings
- Address inquiries related to risk, P&L, and funding variances
- Collaborate with global Fixed Income Middle Office teams to maintain post-trade lifecycle accuracy
- Update processes while ensuring compliance with control and audit standards
- Contribute to continual process improvement and implementation of changes
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
- At least 5 years working in Capital Markets with a focus on Fixed Income and Interest Rate Derivatives
- Middle Office operations experience is essential
- Strong communication abilities
- Preferred knowledge includes Excel VBA, portfolio compression techniques, and use of AI assistants
Work Environment
- Hybrid work model requiring on-site presence 3 days weekly
