Position Overview
The Assistant Vice President of Central Operations Relationship Management will spearhead the rollout of the Target Operating Model (TOM) across QNB's international branches and subsidiaries. Responsibilities include conducting domain assessments, gap analyses, and regulatory compliance evaluations, reporting periodically, supporting governance activities, redesigning policies and procedures, and coordinating projects to enhance international branch utilization aligned with corporate goals. The role also involves instigating quality assurance frameworks and monitoring the implementation of new banking products, systems, and processes across designated countries.
Key Functions and Duties
- Collaborate with Domain Owners to develop KPIs for branch and subsidiary performance and quality measurement, and ensure their implementation.
- Operate within delegated authorities, oversee subordinates' delegated responsibilities, and understand critical financial and non-financial performance drivers.
- Coordinate with internal departments and international branches to secure project requirements, schedules, and enhance SLAs aimed at improving turnaround times.
- Foster robust inter-departmental relationships to achieve Group-wide objectives.
- Provide operational support for TOM implementation including product rollout, training, and guidance in international units.
- Collect country-specific requirements for new business setups and review business requirements and branch procedures, securing approvals as required.
- Ensure regular submission and review of operational reports by branches and subsidiaries; take necessary corrective actions.
- Escalate compliance issues related to regulations and coordinate communication between Group Compliance and international units.
- Lead and coordinate banking projects tied to corporate initiatives such as acquisitions, system changes, new products, and enhancements.
- Manage complex, high-volume operational activities and oversee risk-prone areas impacting departmental and international operations' objectives.
- Support initiatives in efficiency, quality improvement, and system optimization while interacting effectively with other units and stakeholders.
- Guide branches in resolving audit observations and recommendations within target schedules.
- Conduct periodic visits for compliance and alignment assessments and drive continuos improvements through cross-functional team leadership and innovation encouragement.
- Provide mentorship and performance assessments for project managers, supervisors, and analysts supporting international branches.
- Maintain expertise in electronic banking, core banking processes, international regulations, and industry practices, proactively recommending service and product enhancements.
- Foster teamwork, resolve conflicts swiftly, and promote staff development for future leadership readiness.
- Ensure strict adherence to all legal, regulatory, and internal compliance standards including AML, fraud control, data protection, whistleblowing, conflict of interest, and insider dealing policies.
- Actively support risk and compliance frameworks such as RCSA, KRI, incident reporting, and remediation as per operational risk management protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards to safeguard sensitive commercial and customer information.
- Uphold QNB’s professional standards and reputation, and perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or Information Technology; master's degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in Electronic Banking and Operations, with a minimum of 5 years managing international operations.
- Comprehensive operational knowledge of banking procedures to support international branch openings and ongoing operations.
- Thorough understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements for international branches.
- Strong document preparation skills, including drafting business requirements, procedures, and guidance for products and branch management.
