About the Role
Working under the guidance of the Executive Housekeeper, the Assistant Housekeeper is tasked with overseeing daily housekeeping functions in both floors and public areas to maintain exceptional cleanliness standards. This role involves monitoring housekeeping processes to ensure services to guests are prompt and flawless.
Key Responsibilities
- Support management of the housekeeping team, particularly in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
- Assign and supervise tasks to both supervisory and non-supervisory staff efficiently to guarantee courteous service to guests and internal departments.
- Participate in daily briefings, staying informed on VIP arrivals and specific guest attention requirements.
- Communicate daily operational updates and relevant information to housekeeping staff to support their duties.
- Organize routine inspections of all housekeeping spaces, including both occupied and vacant rooms, carried out by supervisors.
- Address guest and departmental feedback and requests to ensure satisfaction.
- Oversee recruitment, training, performance reviews, and resolve conflicts within the team as needed.
- Foster positive interdepartmental relationships and ensure effective communication.
- Provide suggestions to the Executive Housekeeper for improving housekeeping services.
- Manage the consumption of amenities and cleaning materials to stay within budget while ensuring proper use of equipment and tools.
- Carry out administrative tasks such as attending meetings and producing reports and memos as required.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Professional demeanor with a positive, friendly, and confident attitude accompanied by strong interpersonal skills.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the hospitality sector.
- Familiarity with effective cleaning methods, equipment operation, and chemical safety procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Capability to work on shifts as per operational demands.
