Warehouse Logistics Manager

Role overview

NEFCO is hiring a Warehouse Logistics Manager for its Jacksonville, Florida branch. This position reports to the Regional Director of Logistics and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day logistics work that supports branch distribution, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and route loading.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, organize, and improve all warehouse activities across the branch.
• Manage operational costs, service quality, productivity, staffing, safety, capacity, and product movement.
• Promote a continuous-improvement mindset using metrics, training, and coaching to keep the team focused on the most important tasks.
• Keep communication flowing with operations personnel as needed.
• Assist Customer Service, Counter staff, QA/QC, and Inventory Control teams when support is required.
• Track the branch review queue and respond to inbound, outbound, and product-related questions.
• Perform daily warehouse inspections to identify safety and housekeeping concerns.
• Analyze daily reports to find trends, opportunities, and underlying causes of issues.
• Manage cross-dock and transfer activity whenever it occurs.
• Resolve general branch problems in a timely manner.
• Make sure parcel shipments are processed accurately and on time for customer delivery.

People management

• Hold early-morning logistics check-ins with the Dispatcher, Night Shift Supervisor, and Inbound/Inventory Control Manager.
• Handle employee concerns and help resolve workplace issues.
• Review and approve payroll hours each week.
• Coordinate driver and warehouse time off so the branch maintains proper coverage.
• Build teamwork and clear communication so operational targets are met consistently and performance standards remain high.
• Complete all required NEFCO training programs.
• Monitor and enforce training initiatives for team members under your supervision.
• Help implement new training and improve existing learning processes for associates.
• Take ownership of company projects that may fall outside your direct area but still relate to operations.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean work environment at all times.
• Evaluate employees and provide management with reviews when requested.
• Communicate company policies, ensure compliance, and apply corrective action when necessary.
• Check direct reports’ timecards for accuracy and completeness.
• Approve timecards before the supervisor deadline at the end of each pay period.
• Work with employees to fix timekeeping problems such as missed punches or adjustments.
• Review and approve PTO requests.

Quality and operational standards

• Maintain inventory accuracy to reduce shrink, damage, and obsolete stock.
• Meet customer delivery commitments, linehaul pull times, truck departure schedules, and routing efficiency goals.
• Ensure orders are picked, packed, loaded, and delivered correctly and that packages are labeled and presented in good condition.
• Verify that inbound shipments are received and put away accurately in both physical stock and the system.

Schedule and working conditions

The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays. The expected workload is 45 to 50 hours per week.

Qualifications

This position calls for a results-driven warehouse and distribution professional with at least 5 years of experience in industrial warehousing or distribution operations. Strong communication skills are needed across all levels of the organization, along with the ability to lead, coach, delegate to, and mentor supervisors, associates, and drivers. The ideal candidate can set priorities, work independently with limited supervision, and use data and metrics to support decisions and operational improvement. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while a college degree is preferred.

Technical and operational skills

Candidates should be able to review computer images, reports, and documents, and work effectively with NEFCO’s ERP system; Eclipse experience is highly desirable. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is needed, along with strong analytical ability and basic math skills. Familiarity with warehouse layouts for planning is also important.

Physical requirements

This position requires a positive, hands-on attitude and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Candidates must be able to stand on concrete for long periods, work in cold, hot, and humid conditions, crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl, twist for lifting, safely handle loads of 50+ lbs, and operate warehouse equipment including forklifts. Forklift recertification is required.
