About the Role

Join Ark Vets in Knocknacarra, Galway, for a full-time, permanent position as a Veterinary Receptionist, earning €14.15 per hour, with an annual salary potential of up to €30,000. This role is central to the practice, serving as the welcoming face for clients and their pets and ensuring a smooth, reassuring experience from arrival.

Work Schedule and Environment

This position offers a consistent schedule that primarily runs Monday to Friday, with one Saturday in every 3-4 weeks. Typical shifts are from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturdays. Notably, there are no shifts on Sundays, bank holidays, or out-of-hours requirements, promoting excellent work-life balance.

Primary Duties

Your responsibilities will involve managing client interactions, scheduling appointments, handling inquiries and phone calls, processing payments, and maintaining an organized reception area. You will also develop a strong understanding of practice services and products to offer informed guidance to clients. The role combines a dynamic pace with the satisfaction of becoming a familiar and valued member of the client experience.

Candidate Profile

While previous experience in reception or veterinary settings is advantageous, it is not essential. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, personable, and skilled in communication, with the ability to manage a busy front desk efficiently and maintain composure under pressure. Essential qualities include strong organizational skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
