Position Overview

The Utility Cleaner plays a crucial supportive role across various hotel departments such as kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry. This role involves preparing fresh linens and spotless dining ware, operating cleaning equipment including dishwashers and laundry machines, and transporting dishware and linens throughout the hotel to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all cleaning duties are performed efficiently across departments like kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, and linen washers/dryers.
• Transport dishware and linens safely within hotel premises.
• Maintain safety standards and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Adhere to quality standards while maintaining professional personal appearance and communication.
• Foster positive and collaborative relationships with co-workers and different departments to achieve shared objectives.
• Promptly report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Perform physical tasks such as moving objects up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and reaching overhead or bending as needed.
• Carry out any additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• No formal education such as a high school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• No prior work or supervisory experience needed.
• No licenses or certifications required.

This position is based at 1919 Upper Water Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and is full-time onsite. The pay range is $19.69 to $20.19 per hour.
