Trip Leader

Role overview

HikerWolf is looking for a Trip Leader in Mumbai to help plan and run outdoor trips, clinics, and classes. The role involves direct participant coordination, site preparation, equipment handling, logistics support, and consistent adherence to safety and emergency procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and coordination of trips, clinics, classes, and related outdoor activities.
• Lead and supervise day trips, weekend outings, extended trips, events, clinics, and classes.
• Hold pre-event and pre-trip meetings with participants to align on expectations and logistics.
• Help market and publicize outdoor recreation and campus recreation activities.
• Look after rental equipment by cleaning, organizing, maintaining, and repairing it as needed.
• Represent the program positively through good public relations, promotion, and policy awareness.
• Handle pre-trip and post-trip administrative work and logistical support.
• Inspect, scout, and prepare sites and equipment required for trips and activities.
• Keep records and files for each event, trip, and clinic.
• Contribute to building and maintaining an outdoor resource library.
• Follow all risk management steps and emergency response procedures.
• File incident and injury reports promptly with the required documentation.
• Serve on the Campus Recreation Student Emergency Response Team to support emergency response efforts.
• Follow all Pepperdine and Campus Recreation rules and procedures on and off campus during all trips, clinics, and classes.
• Stay updated on current outdoor recreation trends and best practices.
• Attend all scheduled meetings.
• Prepare and submit end-of-semester reports on time.
• Maintain a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused atmosphere at all times.

Additional information

This role includes both field-based leadership and behind-the-scenes coordination. It requires comfort with outdoor environments, attention to safety, strong organization, and the ability to work within institutional policies and emergency protocols.
