Role Overview

This full-time Toolmaker position is located in Coimbatore and follows a hybrid work arrangement, balancing on-site duties with flexible work-from-home options when feasible. The Toolmaker will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other precision tooling vital to plastics manufacturing, ensuring all tools conform to specifications and production demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpreting technical drawings and engineering blueprints accurately.
• Setting up and operating conventional machines as well as CNC equipment.
• Performing precise measurements and inspections to ensure tooling accuracy and quality.
• Collaborating with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve tooling problems and enhance tool design.
• Documenting all work performed and adhering strictly to safety and quality standards.
• Participating in preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient machining and toolmaking capabilities including milling, turning, grinding, and basic CNC operation.
• Skilled in reading and understanding technical drawings, blueprints, and implementing precision measurement techniques.
• Experience in mold and die construction, as well as routine repair and maintenance in plastics or comparable manufacturing sectors.
• Familiarity with workplace safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and basic troubleshooting of tooling and machinery.
• Relevant diploma or certification in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; apprenticeship or hands-on experience is valued.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude, with attention to detail and capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Flexibility to operate in a hybrid model based in Coimbatore and to adjust to evolving production requirements.
