About the Role
Join Traffic Safe NZ Ltd's Taupo branch as a Traffic Management Operator (TMO) and Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) practitioner. You’ll be at the forefront of road safety, leading traffic management setups and ensuring smooth flow and safety at live work sites. This position offers a dynamic outdoor work environment with a dedicated team committed to excellent service and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain traffic management sites strictly adhering to approved plans.
- Control live traffic with stop/go signals and adjust layouts as required on site.
- Supervise on-site crews by conducting toolbox talks and delegating daily responsibilities.
- Conduct site inductions, perform safety inspections, and keep precise records.
- Promote a proactive safety culture ensuring all work complies with safety standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A current practicing qualification in TMO or STMS A/B; if not yet qualified, training and certification will be provided.
- Prior traffic management experience with at least the Unit Standard 31960 (TTM Qualification).
- Valid New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence is mandatory; Class 2 licence advantageous.
- Leadership qualities to confidently guide teams and make informed, risk-aware decisions onsite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Physical fitness suitable for outdoor work in all weather conditions.
