Sustainability Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a Sustainability Analyst at Cairn to assist in managing the Group’s sustainability and ESG reporting activities. Reporting to the Sustainability Reporting Manager, this role involves collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior leaders, employees, external consultants, industry peers, and shareholders. It presents a valuable opportunity to advocate for and communicate Cairn’s sustainability efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Sustainability Reporting Manager in preparing annual sustainability reports covering Environmental and Social areas such as Carbon emissions, Biodiversity, Waste management, Workforce initiatives including Health & Safety, Wellbeing, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Supply Chain engagement, and Social Impact.
• Collect both qualitative and quantitative sustainability data from various business functions to support yearly reporting.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance processes for sustainability data gathering and reporting accuracy.
• Provide support during the annual audit and assurance of non-financial sustainability data alongside external auditors.
• Work with cross-functional teams to help develop and update sustainability policies and procedures as needed.
• Contribute to external reporting obligations such as the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and coordinate with external consultants accordingly.
• Support the execution of Cairn’s Sustainability Strategy and associated projects.
• Analyze sustainability performance trends and recommend improvements to environmental and social practices within the organization.
• Assist in educating employees on sustainability topics, including conducting orientations for new employees, graduates, and trainees, and help create core sustainability awareness communications.
• Represent Cairn at external sustainability conferences and events as an ambassador for the company.

Desired Experience & Competencies

• A strong passion for comprehensive sustainability practices and experience in sustainability, environmental management or reporting, data analytics, ESG reporting, or a related field.
• Experience in the Construction sector is beneficial.
• Familiarity with greenhouse gas emission accounting for Scope 1, 2, and 3 and related environmental footprinting.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate findings effectively.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the capacity to engage across multifunctional and external stakeholder groups.
• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, excellent organizational skills, and capability to manage competing priorities.
