Job description

Job Overview

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated Streetworks Inspector to oversee and coordinate works on the county's highway network, ensuring minimal disruption and compliance with relevant legislation. This permanent, full-time role involves 37 working hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Inspect reinstatements for utility and private undertaker openings within highway areas.
  • Identify and issue defects related to reinstatements and manage these through resolution.
  • Monitor sites during the guarantee period post-completion.
  • Ensure compliance with permits and regulations under the New Roads & Street Works Act and Traffic Management Act 2004.
  • Utilise inspection tools, including handheld devices, and maintain accurate records using systems like Aurora.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working in a similar, fast-paced environment, preferably within street works inspection or highway authority sectors.
  • A solid understanding of street works registers and the West and Shires Permit Scheme (WaSP).
  • Good communication abilities and capability to work well within a team.
  • Familiarity with Aurora software and handheld inspection technology is advantageous.
