Job Overview
The Store Manager role involves overseeing all aspects of store management including sales performance, staff leadership, operational efficiency, and customer engagement to meet and surpass company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily store operations encompassing sales, personnel, customer experience, security protocols, health and safety, inventory control, and resource management.
- Achieve and exceed store sales targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Recruit, train, develop, and lead store staff consistent with company standards, ensuring fairness in all personnel matters.
- Administer financial processes including cash handling, wage management, budgeting, and system updates using tools such as TMS and SAP.
- Implement effective visual merchandising strategies to attract and educate customers.
- Oversee staffing and promotion of in-store services like Safesize and Assisted Selling.
- Maintain store and stockroom security by monitoring for theft risks and enforcing security guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and ensure all staff training and practices align with company policies.
- Identify current and future customer needs to develop additional business opportunities beyond direct sales.
- Lead the execution of company projects within the store to meet organizational expectations.
- Maintain high standards aligned with business audit requirements consistently.
- Serve as a keyholder with responsibility for responding to alarm activations.
- Provide support and cover for other store locations as required.
- Perform additional tasks necessary for smooth store operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Between two to three years' experience managing retail operations, depending on store grade.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and people management skills.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service understanding its impact on sales and profitability.
- Experience in Visual Merchandising is advantageous.
- Comprehensive product knowledge.
- Proficient with IT tools including Excel, email communication, and SAP systems.
- A third-level qualification in Business or Retail Management is desirable but not mandatory.
