Masco Canada, a leader in building and home improvement with over 120 years of experience, is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join their team at the St. Thomas, Ontario office. This role is focused on sourcing suppliers and products globally, especially outside Asia, managing supplier relationships, and supporting product development initiatives. The position reports directly to the Sourcing Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage direct import purchasing activities.
• Provide comprehensive sourcing solutions including OEM, ODM, new technologies, and innovations for new product development.
• Oversee the entire supplier lifecycle from onboarding to phase-out, fostering strong supplier communication with advanced sourcing capabilities.
• Evaluate supplier performance using scorecards and lead corrective action meetings till resolution.
• Support the implementation of sourcing strategies through supplier optimization.
• Conduct supplier RFQ and business award evaluations.
• Lead departmental data analysis, reporting, and Power BI-related initiatives.
• Focus on key sourcing aspects such as supplier relationship management, pricing, contract negotiations, sustainability of supply, and future category sourcing plans.
• Identify and act on cost-saving opportunities in collaboration with Engineering on value engineering of direct and indirect costs.
• Serve as a liaison for internal teams to determine sourcing needs for new product development and maintain procurement policy compliance.
• Participate in and lead cross-functional sourcing activities within assigned categories.
• Conduct supplier assessments in coordination with Corporate Audit teams.
• Ensure compliance with governance and customer-specific requirements, safeguarding product quality and supply chain integrity.
• Analyze market conditions to maximize Masco's leverage in sourcing negotiations.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers.
• Coordinate with international counterparts to align sourcing initiatives globally.
• Travel up to 40% is required to maintain close supplier management and relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in supplier and product sourcing within manufacturing, buying offices, or trading industries.
• Proven ability to work independently, creatively solve problems, and take ownership of initiatives.
• Strong collaboration, rapid learning capability, excellent organization, results orientation, multitasking ability, and adaptability in ambiguous situations.
• Business savvy with data-driven analytical skills.
• Experience sourcing mechanical and electrical products and familiarity with their development is advantageous.
• Knowledge of business sourcing and new product development practices.
• Understanding of Total Cost of Ownership principles.
• Networking ties in sourcing and business management considered a plus.
• Basic understanding of engineering design and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with product development flow and Stage Gate process is an asset.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle and SAP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Smartsheet.
• Supply Chain or Business Management certifications/diplomas or equivalent education and five years of strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Candidate must be capable of domestic and international travel.
