Role overview
This permanent full-time position is based at the Morwell manufacturing site in Victoria. The location operates around the clock, six days a week, across nine production lines and is recognised as Australia’s largest yoghurt production facility. The plant produces a broad range of yoghurt and dairy dessert products, including Farmers Union, Dairy Farmers and Yoplait.
You will be part of the site services team, handling a broad mix of duties across maintenance coordination, contractor oversight, permit processes, inventory support and administration. A practical mechanical mindset and curiosity are both strongly valued in this role.
The job is site-based, requiring five days a week on location at Morwell, with flexible start and finish times depending on operational requirements.
Key responsibilities
The role covers a varied set of tasks aimed at keeping essential site services running smoothly and avoiding disruption to operations.
- Oversee and support vital site services and the wastewater treatment plant and related equipment so that unplanned downtime or damage is reduced or avoided.
- Work with systems such as refrigeration, compressed air and hot water supply equipment.
- Maintain a strong focus on safe work methods by identifying hazards, reporting safety concerns and helping reduce or eliminate risks.
- Carry out assigned daily duties, including routine cleaning activities, inspections and completion of authorised logs and worksheets.
- Coordinate contractors working across assets in the area.
- Spot and drive opportunities to reduce energy use and chemical consumption.
What we are looking for
To succeed in this position, you should bring practical maintenance awareness, sound communication and solid safety understanding, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Practical mechanical aptitude for basic upkeep of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Comfortable using computers for routine work and administration.
- Clear communication skills.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety principles.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
