Service Technician - Renewable Energy

Work Locations and Schedule

• Your base will be regional Australia; note that this is not a fly-in fly-out role, so you must be located in the respective regions.
• Locations include: Western Australia (Merredin, Jurien Bay, Geraldton), South Australia (Port Augusta, Whyalla, Millicent, Mt Gambier), Victoria (Warnambool, Ballarat, Sale), New South Wales (Canberra, Goulburn, Inverell, Glen Innes), Queensland (Hughenden, Chinchilla, Dulacca, Atherton), Tasmania (Musselroe, Granville Harbour).
• Working hours are typically 8 hours daily, with on-call duties roughly once every 3 to 4 weeks on weekends.
• Travel is expected, averaging about 50 days per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow stringent safety and environmental protocols while achieving service goals.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance using Vestas' standards, covering electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems—perform replacement and troubleshooting as needed.
• Support turbine operation through condition monitoring and remote control systems.
• Keep service vehicles and warehouses stocked with necessary tools, materials, and spare parts by managing inventory effectively.
• Assemble and service components compliant with current work instructions, utilizing cranes when required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Completion of a trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulics, paired with the enthusiasm to expand your proficiency.
• Competent with computer applications and skilled in using various tools and systems to document and monitor work.
• Proficiency in English communication, both written and spoken.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Physically capable of climbing wind turbines and performing demanding labor at heights under varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel to various sites as required.
