Senior Technician / Technician

Position Summary

This role entails responding promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolving issues independently. The technician will perform preventive upkeep of equipment including cleaning and lubrication, conduct visual inspections, and manage maintenance inventory. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics related to plumbing and HVAC is essential. The role demands strong engineering operations knowledge, with expertise across various categories such as refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building management systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend to and resolve guest repair requests efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Undertake preventive maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Inspect equipment and tools visually to identify maintenance needs.
• Operate and manage shut-off valves for relevant equipment as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance inventory and handle requisition of parts and supplies.
• Communicate daily activities and issues between shifts via established communication protocols.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Demonstrate advanced skills in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, carpentry, kitchen equipment handling, vehicle maintenance, energy conservation, and general building management.
• Perform complex repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment, and HVAC systems adhering to company and legal standards.
• Troubleshoot diverse equipment including pumps, motors, electrical fixtures, and internet devices.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout safety procedures prior to maintenance tasks.
• Operate engineering computer programs for preventive maintenance and energy management.
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the hotel.
• Train and mentor junior engineers where needed.
• Fulfill Engineer on Duty duties, including readings and rounds.
• Adhere strictly to all safety and security policies and procedures, including proper storage of flammable materials.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance and uphold confidentiality and asset protection.
• Provide courteous guest service in line with company hospitality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve shared objectives and communicate effectively.
• Manage additional reasonable duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completed high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior work or supervisory experience required.
• No licenses or certifications mandated.
