Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Quality Assurance Manager based in Melbourne to lead our Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance department. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Supply Chain, the role entails steering quality strategy and compliance, safeguarding that all pharmaceuticals meet stringent quality and regulatory standards. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external parties such as suppliers, contract manufacturers, and regulatory bodies to enhance quality systems, manage risks effectively, and maintain uninterrupted supply of high-quality medicines to Australia, New Zealand, and other emerging markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and expert guidance in pharmaceutical quality across the organisation, working closely with commercial, regulatory, supply, and technical teams to embed quality best practices.
• Lead and mentor the Quality Assurance team, fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous enhancement.
• Continuously upgrade the Quality Management System to comply with international standards including TGA and PIC/S requirements.
• Manage supplier quality initiatives encompassing qualification, agreements, performance review, and GMP compliance monitoring.
• Develop and apply quality risk management processes, addressing deviations, product complaints, compliance concerns, and initiating product recalls as needed.
• Track and report quality metrics, conduct audits, and manage governance activities, escalating major compliance risks and liaising with regulatory authorities when necessary.

Required Expertise and Experience

• Significant leadership experience in pharmaceutical Quality Assurance.
• In-depth understanding of Quality Management Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices, and international regulatory frameworks such as TGA and PIC/S.
• Proven track record in managing supplier quality and contract manufacturing organisations.
• Expertise in handling regulatory inspections, CAPAs, product quality complaints, recalls, and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams while influencing senior stakeholders across various departments.
• Strong commercial insight coupled with excellent leadership, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills.
