Senior QA Engineer

Role overview

This is a senior quality assurance role for a partner company hiring in Ireland. The employer is seeking someone who can take full ownership of product quality within a fast-moving, product-led engineering setup. QA is expected to be part of the product and engineering conversation from the outset, not just a final checkpoint.

The position combines hands-on manual testing with automation engineering. You will help validate releases across web, mobile, and API-based products, with a focus on stability, performance, and a smooth end-user experience. The role calls for a practical engineering mindset, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to influence how features are designed, tested, and shipped.

You will contribute throughout the development cycle, starting with requirement review and test planning and continuing through execution, release validation, and ongoing improvement of quality practices. Key accountabilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end quality assurance across web, mobile applications for Android and iOS, and API-driven services, making sure releases satisfy functional, performance, and reliability expectations before deployment.
• Create, document, and run comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports that align with business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Build and maintain automated test coverage for web, mobile, and API layers using tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, and Appium.
• Perform manual verification across functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and performance scenarios to reflect real-world usage.
• Find, record, monitor, and investigate defects, then work closely with engineers to support fast and effective resolution.
• Strengthen CI/CD quality practices by embedding tests into build and release workflows and improving automation coverage using tools such as Jenkins and cloud infrastructure.
• Join requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies to help ensure features are clear, testable, and aligned with quality expectations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of QA engineering experience, with solid practical exposure to both manual and automation testing in web and mobile environments.
• Strong programming ability in Python, along with a good grasp of automation frameworks and test engineering practices.
• Experience validating APIs with tools like Postman and checking backend services and integrations.
• Hands-on work with automation tools for web and mobile testing, including Selenium, Playwright, and Appium.
• Good knowledge of testing approaches such as regression, integration, end-to-end, performance, and API testing.
• Experience working with relational databases like MySQL; familiarity with MongoDB is an added advantage.
• Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes is strongly beneficial.
