Senior Project Engineer - Earthworks

Project Overview

The Waikare Gorge Realignment involves relocating 4 kilometers of State Highway 2 and constructing a new bridge across the Waikare Gorge near Pūtōrino north of Napier. This project aims to improve highway safety, enhance resilience, facilitate better freight and community access, and reduce the need for future emergency and recovery work.

Role Summary

We seek an experienced Senior Project Engineer specialized in earthworks to join our site team in Waikare. Candidates must have significant experience in large-scale civil construction projects including earthworks. The engineer will coordinate with project managers, site staff, suppliers, and subcontractors to plan and deliver their area of work efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Lead project activities with a minimum of seven years' experience in senior civil engineering roles.
• Manage project planning, execution, and delivery phases effectively.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, consultants, and key project stakeholders.
• Maintain strong oversight of health and safety, quality assurance, cost control, and scheduling.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to developing engineers on the team.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree and current Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registration.
