Senior Payroll Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Senior Payroll Coordinator to join our Global Business Services team in Cork, Ireland. This role offers a hybrid work environment and a competitive compensation package.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for assigned countries/entities ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local laws.
• Review and validate all payroll inputs, calculations, and results before final approval.
• Accurately process payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, benefits, bonuses, overtime, and leave.
• Coordinate payroll calendars, cutoff dates, and necessary statutory submissions.
• Potentially provide indirect leadership to payroll team members.
• Oversee country-specific payroll mailboxes and checklists.
• Support migration efforts of country payrolls within the payroll function.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and social security regulations.
• Assist with payroll audits by supplying required documentation and explanations.
• Maintain payroll control processes, reconciliations, and approval workflows.
• Lead reviews of legislative and change requests for management approval.
• Serve as a main payroll contact for employees, HR, Finance, and external vendors, addressing complex payroll queries confidentially and promptly.
• Collaborate with third-party payroll providers to meet service standards.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses for financial purposes.
• Ensure payroll costs are accurately posted to the general ledger and support month- and year-end closing activities.
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes, documentation, and internal controls.
• Contribute to payroll system upgrades, transitions, and global initiatives.
• Provide guidance and coaching to payroll team members as needed.
• Conduct data collection, investigations, and ad hoc process reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll, ideally within multinational or shared services settings.
• Proficient in managing complex payrolls involving multiple pay elements.
• Thorough understanding of payroll compliance and statutory requirements.
• Experience coordinating with third-party payroll service providers highly valued.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with payroll systems such as Workday, SAP, ADP, or similar platforms.
• High discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
• Preferred payroll or accounting certifications such as IPASS or CIPP.
• A degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is preferred.
• A strong background working within a global payroll environment.

• Annual gross salary range between 60000 and 65000 EUR depending on experience.
