Overview
Join a leading American multinational corporation in Bengaluru as a Senior Manager specializing in high-speed PCB design and simulation. This role involves overseeing teams dedicated to signal integrity, power integrity, electromagnetic compatibility, and thermal analysis to deliver advanced PCB solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of managers and engineers in high-speed PCB design and simulation, driving their professional growth and skill enhancement.
- Establish and execute strategic roadmaps, methodologies, and best practices focused on signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, RFI, and thermal analysis.
- Collaborate extensively with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to translate project requirements into feasible designs and resolve technical challenges.
- Manage multiple complex PCB design and simulation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and performance objectives.
- Provide expert technical guidance on PCB layout, schematic development, and component selection, while staying updated with evolving technologies and standards.
- Conduct comprehensive design and simulation reviews, imparting strategic recommendations to optimize PCB performance and reliability.
- Promote continuous innovation and improvements in PCB design and simulation processes, maintaining competitiveness through knowledge of emerging technologies and industry standards such as IPC.
- Lead quality assurance and validation efforts including design of experiments, plausibility checks, sensitivity studies, and cross-verification of simulation outcomes with experimental data to ensure first-time-right manufacturing for prototypes and mass production.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Robotics and Automation Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, or Applied Electronics and Instrumentation from a reputed institute; a master's degree in related disciplines is preferred.
- Approximately 20 years of hands-on experience in high-speed PCB design and simulation, demonstrating a successful record in managing and delivering complex projects.
- 8 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience including team development and customer/stakeholder engagement.
- Deep expertise in engineering principles related to high-speed PCB design encompassing signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, RFI, and thermal phenomena.
- Proficient in PCB layout, schematic creation, routing, and manufacturability considerations.
- Advanced skills in high-speed PCB design software such as Altium Designer, Allegro, or PADS.
- Expertise with simulation tools including Ansys SIwave/HFSS, Keysight Pathwave ADS, Keysight SIPro, Siemens HyperLyx, Cadence Sigrity, Dassault CST Studio Suite, Ansys EMC Plus, Cadence Microwave Office, and thermal simulation tools like Ansys ICEPAK, Siemens FLOTHERM, Cadence CELSIUS.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry standards such as IPC, JEDEC, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and PCB manufacturing processes with an emphasis on design for manufacturability.
