The Role
This full-time, permanent position in AUT's City Campus, Auckland CBD, involves leading educational design initiatives. The role demands a broad expertise in innovative pedagogy, curriculum development, digital learning, assessment, and scholarly pedagogical research. A strong understanding of Mātauranga Māori and/or Pacific pedagogies and cultural competence is highly valued. You will collaborate with academic teams using design-led approaches to create blended learning experiences grounded in evidence-based principles, managing multiple projects and work strands effectively.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate energy, curiosity, openness to new ideas, and a collaborative mindset that contributes to a positive workplace culture. Embracing cultural humility and respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Indigenous peoples, and diverse communities is essential. Experience with Indigenous, equity, or inclusion initiatives is advantageous.
Qualifications and Experience
- A postgraduate qualification in a pertinent field or equivalent professional standing
- Significant experience in planning, designing, and developing educational practices and learning design methodologies for varied learning environments, including face-to-face, blended, and online
- Proven capability in systematic learning design processes at scale, including project and milestone management in centrally coordinated learning design initiatives
- Demonstrated success collaborating with academics and specialists to deliver project outcomes aligned with institutional priorities
- Evidence-based practice in academic consultation, curriculum design, and assessment support
- Experience managing programme-wide and new course developments within university settings
- Knowledge and practical skills relating to Mātauranga Māori and/or Pasifika pedagogies, supporting their integration into learning and teaching
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and AUT’s Te Aronui journey
Additional Information
- Start Date: Immediate
- Salary Range: NZD 110,000 to 122,000 per annum
- Full-time role: 37.5 hours per week
