Job description

About the Role

Join Microsoft’s MCAPS-Core team to contribute to accelerating customer success and commercial growth by integrating product, engineering, marketing, sales, customer success, and partners towards a unified mission. This role is embedded in the Customer & Commercial Success (CCS) organization, which executes Microsoft’s commercial strategy to deliver superior AI-powered customer experiences that drive measurable business outcomes.

Microsoft aims to empower every individual and organization globally through innovation, collaboration, and a culture defined by respect, integrity, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in-depth cybersecurity research and threat intelligence by gathering and analyzing diverse data sources on vulnerabilities, attacker behaviors, product exploit risks, and academic and industry reports, transforming these complex insights into practical guidance for cross-functional teams.
  • Plan and coordinate security analyses and design cross-team solutions by aligning threat research with product development schedules, risk factors, and feature scopes, collaborating with both security and non-security teams to prevent, detect, disrupt, and resolve cyberattacks.
  • Manage security orchestration, architectural assessments, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and identification of security gaps to drive remediation across the organization.
  • Develop scalable security automation and detection mechanisms, refine methods for malware and threat analysis, implement targeted mitigations, and contribute to security standards and guidelines by incorporating customer and partner insights.

Qualifications

  • A Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or closely related field, or a Master’s degree combined with 3+ years of experience in software lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat modeling, cybersecurity, vulnerability research, or anomaly detection.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in the above fields plus 4+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Must be able to satisfy Microsoft’s security screening, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check at hiring and biennially thereafter.
