Security Analyst

About the Role

The Security Analyst position at Morningstar involves joining the Information Security Team, which centrally manages corporate and product security on a global scale. As part of the Security Operations Center (SOC) based in Mumbai, you will help safeguard Morningstar’s infrastructure, data, and personnel. The role engages in proactive monitoring, threat analysis, and incident response to mitigate risks and minimize operational impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver continuous, 24/7 security monitoring and alert operations.
• Identify, analyze, report, and respond to cybersecurity threats through a blend of advanced tools and established processes.
• Conduct alert triage, rigorous review, and timely escalation of incidents.
• Develop and implement innovative detection techniques to counteract adversaries.
• Evaluate the security implications of alerts and network traffic irregularities to detect malicious behavior.
• Produce comprehensive reports tailored for technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 to 3 years of professional experience in information security.
• Strong oral and written communication and a solid grasp of cybersecurity principles.
• Keen enthusiasm for staying current on emerging security trends and technologies.
• Hands-on experience with security platforms and tools.
• Familiarity with cloud security, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Competency in handling endpoint security alerts and application security knowledge.
• Preferred certifications include CEH, Security+, CompTIA+, Splunk, and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) qualifications.
