Role overview
This full-time Kitchen Hand position is based at the Qantas Lounges by Accor at Sydney Airport in Mascot, New South Wales. It is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys staying active, working with others, and helping the back-of-house team operate efficiently.
The position is ideal for someone who likes clear responsibilities, a busy environment, and being part of an important and well-known operation.
Key duties
- Keep the kitchen and scullery areas clean, orderly, and ready for service.
- Wash crockery, glassware, pots, pans, and other kitchen items using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Clean, care for, and monitor dishwashing machines and related equipment, and report any faults or concerns.
- Maintain high hygiene standards across food preparation, kitchen, and scullery spaces.
- Handle chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
- Help with simple food preparation tasks when needed.
- Support the kitchen team during peak service times.
- Work a rotating roster that includes mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a commercial kitchen.
- Experience in hospitality or a hotel setting is preferred.
- Good understanding of food safety practices.
- Ability to stay effective and composed when work is busy or under pressure.
- Availability to work a variety of rostered shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
- Must have unrestricted full working rights in Australia.

Any successful candidate must complete a Federal Police check at their own expense through the ID system. The cost will be reimbursed once the applicant is approved, and this is required to obtain ASIC certification.
